A New City, A New Chapter— And Some Big News

If you’ve been following me for a while, you may have noticed a few changes lately — a new last name, a new area code, and a whole lot of Colorado showing up in my life. I’m Liz Derry Cox, and yes, I got remarried to an incredible man who has ties to Denver, and when we looked at this city — naturally minded, health conscious, full of women who think deeply about their pregnancies and their births — it felt like more than just a place to land. It felt like exactly where I was supposed to be.

So here we are. Denver, Colorado. And I have a lot to share.

I’m offering midwifery services again — on a limited basis

For those of you who knew me from my years of midwifery practice, I know this is news you’ve been waiting for. I am now accepting a very limited number of midwifery clients here in the Denver metro area. Limited is the key word — I keep my client load intentionally small so that every woman I work with gets the kind of care I actually believe in. Hour-long prenatal visits. My personal cell number. A midwife who stays with you through every moment of your labor and birth. If you’re in Denver and exploring your options, reach out. Spots are genuinely limited.

But there’s something else I’ve been building — and it’s what gets me out of bed every morning

Over the past several years, something has been growing in me alongside my clinical work. A deep conviction that the women who need a midwife’s expertise most aren’t always the ones who can access it. Women birthing in hospitals. Women far from providers like me. Women who are educated and health conscious and doing everything right — and still walking into their births underprepared, underinformed, and unsupported in the ways that matter most.

That’s why I created Loving My Pregnancy — a pregnancy coaching and education brand built on nearly 30 years of experience as a nurse, midwife, and doula. My mission is simple: every pregnant woman deserves to feel safe, prepared, and genuinely cared for — no matter where she’s birthing or who her provider is.

Here’s how I can support you through Loving My Pregnancy:

Pregnancy Coaching — This is personalized, one-on-one support from a midwife. We work together throughout your pregnancy to make sure you truly understand what’s happening in your body, know your options, can advocate for yourself, and walk into your birth feeling genuinely ready — not just hopeful. This is for the woman who wants expert eyes on her pregnancy and a trusted guide in her corner from start to finish.

The Pregnancy Safety Intensive — A focused educational experience designed for the woman who wants to understand the warning signs in pregnancy that actually matter, know when something needs attention, and feel confident recognizing what’s normal and what’s not. This is for first-time moms who don’t want to be caught off guard, and for women who’ve had a scary or difficult pregnancy before and are determined to go into this one informed.

Classes and Free Education — I regularly offer classes and share free evidence-based pregnancy and birth education because I believe informed women have better births. Period. Follow along to stay in the loop.

Come find me

Whether you’re local to Denver or anywhere in the country, I’d love to connect. This work is my purpose, and there is nothing I love more than walking alongside a woman through one of the most significant seasons of her life.
